Overview

If your search encounters 0 results, you may come across a message like this:

  • 0 results were found for "search term"

  • Nothing turned up

Listed below are some troubleshooting tips and best practices for searching Atlas.

Troubleshooting

Check Where You're Searching

There is a search bar present in the header of all primary Atlas pages that will return results for all pages in Atlas, not only the topic you are currently viewing. Each primary page (e.g. the Explore pages) has its own search bar specific to the content related to the page you're viewing. Be sure that you are using the correct search bar.

If you are in the Measure Ontologies pages, for example, and search "fitbit" in the page-specific search bar, it is unlikely to return any results.

If you search using the header (site-wide) search bar, however, it will return results.

Try a Synonym or Abbreviation

There are a lot of similar words out there! We adjust our search indexing as we learn from Atlas users. Here are some common synonyms and abbreviation examples.

  • HRV <> Heart Rate Variability

  • Electrodermal Activity <> Galvanic Skin Response

  • Itch <> Scratch

  • PPG <> Photoplethysmography

  • Limb <> Extremity

  • CRS <> Cytokine Release Syndrome

If there is a synonym or abbreviation you'd like us to consider, please email us at [email protected].

Ensure Filters Aren't Applied

Once applied, filters aren't removed automatically when you enter a new search term. If you are searching multiple different terms back-to-back and narrowing down their results using filters, you'll have to remove them before the next term is searched. Otherwise, potentially inaccurate or unassociated filters will be applied to your new search.

Active filters appear under the search bar and can be removed by pressing the "x" icon:

Learn more about filters in our How to Use Filters article.

Out of Scope Technologies

It's possible that your search yielded no results because the technology is out of Atlas's scope. Atlas is currently focused on digital measurement tools that capture health-related measures outside of a hospital or clinic. This includes both consumer and "medical-grade" products that are registered with the FDA. For more information, please read our Technology Ingestion article.
