Atlas's Scope of Technologies

Atlas is currently focused on digital measurement tools that capture health-related measures (i.e. activity, sleep, heart rate, blood pressure, speech) outside of a hospital or clinic. This includes both consumer (e.g. Fitbit or Apple Watch) and "medical-grade" products that are registered with the FDA (e.g. ActiGraph or Dexcom).

Atlas's foundation is physical sensors. We have begun expansion into software applications including mobile apps and algorithms.

Atlas doesn't include:

  • Anything that requires the patient to be in a hospital or clinic to work, like an MRI machine that’s not portable

  • Digital therapeutics

  • Electronic surveys

  • Surgically implanted devices like pacemakers or defibrillators

  • Electronic health records or clinical trial management software

  • Software versions (unless they carry novel measures or regulatory decisions)

  • Custom builds or custom components

  • Generic component sensors (e.g. individual accelerometer, gyroscope, IMU, etc.) that are used by study teams to create custom wearables

Get in touch with us at [email protected] if you have a question about a specific component or vendor.
